The classic first day trip: the Hellenistic temple of Garni, the Symphony of Stones and the cliff-carved monastery of Geghard.
The classics are Garni & Geghard (half day), Khor Virap with Echmiadzin, Lake Sevan & Dilijan, and the long day south to Tatev. Areni wine country and, in winter, Tsaghkadzor are also popular.
